Our Raison d'Etre

In today’s VUCAL world (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, Ambiguous, Limited), businesses must build adaptive and resilient strategies that consider their lasting impact—whether social, societal, or environmental.

That’s why Citwell is committed to playing its part in driving behavioral and mindset changes within its sphere of influence. We aim to shift the overall standards of our industries, where possible, alongside our clients, partners, and like-minded stakeholders who are conscious and open to change. We want to help transform practices toward a more resilient economy, capable of adapting and evolving in this ever-changing landscape.

Our Purpose, is the result of a collective intelligence process involving all our employees and leaders. It reflects both our awareness of our unique qualities and the expression of our deeper ambitions.

Our transformation pillars

To strengthen the implementation of our Raison d’Être, we have structured our approach around five key objectives.

1. Cultivate and deepen our technological, social, and environmental expertise
  • Share the complexities of the ecological crisis in an engaging way, both within our company and with our clients, through workshops and training sessions.

  • Implement an industrialized monitoring system for us and our clients.

  • Enhance our practices, recommendations, and ways of working to address environmental and societal challenges:
Evolve concepts and perspectives to account for externalities (beyond just carbon) within value chain practices—from eco-design to accounting-driven management, including master planning, S&OP, transportation and storage, and circular or localized economies.

  • Promote deeper consideration of human factors through training to further strengthen change management, focusing on the socio-dynamics of organizations, personal behaviors, and collective intelligence.

  • Consistently offer low-carbon alternatives for our business travel to client sites.

We aim to:

  • Develop or enhance a framework for analyzing technical, technological, and organizational innovations to assess their impact, through a dedicated committee.

  • Implement those innovations within our services where applicable.

  • Act as a promoter of relevant innovations through conferences, recommendations, word-of-mouth, networking, participatory investment, and academic chairs.

  • Share with our stakeholders the lessons learned from our rapid and focused learning experiences, helping everyone decode the paradoxes.

  • Support positive transitions at the highest level of the company with our expertise in Governance and Organization.

  • By relentlessly questioning them through collective intelligence activities that continuously shape our evolution.

  • By showcasing them in all our interactions with clients and prospects, from pre-sales through execution and closure of our projects.

  • By featuring more of our clients who lead the way or overcome challenges.

  • By engaging in think tanks, associations, and other networking opportunities (e.g., Lab Supply Chain 4 Good from France Supply Chain).

  • By participating in academic chairs or research.

  • By contributing to and leading relevant networks, creating them if they don’t exist.

We place special importance on the relationships we build through our engagements, valuing simplicity, authenticity, and honesty, with a focus on mutual listening and humility.

  • With our clients:
    – Co-create through collective intelligence, cross-functionality, and balancing the high-level expertise posture: aiming for a shared vision.
    – Come together around an activity to celebrate success.
    – The price of honesty: refusing to push a project we believe has no added value.

  • Internally:
    – The experienced team members teach the younger ones, but the younger members also bring new insights to the experienced ones!
    – Many shared events, by office, group, and together as a whole. One key principle: enjoying what we do with the people around us.

We aim to embody the adage, “Be the change you wish to see”:

  • Establishing high-level CSR governance within the company and publishing CSR indicators with associated commitments.

  • Creating a dedicated program management structure involving all levels and functions, led and supported by each member of the leadership team. Everyone can choose their level of contribution to the initiative.

  • Organizing expertise, localization, and skill communities, and reflecting on tools to enhance cross-functionality.

  • Strengthening mechanisms that empower and hold everyone accountable for their trajectory, learning, evaluations, and external communication: no career path is pre-determined.
