The module in brief
The circular economy offers new business opportunities – what are they and what are the associated challenges?
The Blue Connection is an innovative online business simulation game. It invites participants to transform the linear supply chain of a virtual electric bicycle manufacturer into a circular value chain. In teams of 4, participants will represent the functional roles of VP Finance, VP Purchasing, VP Supply Chain and VP Sales.
Team members will be faced with a variety of real-life, real-time dilemmas, and cross-functional understanding and collaboration are key to success.

About the game
Participants run their own virtual business, The Blue Connection, a manufacturer of electric bikes. Due to the growing demand for companies to transform the way they operate and the new business opportunities offered by the circular economy, the electric bike manufacturer has hired a new management team to transform the company’s linear value chain into a circular value chain. Participants will learn how to adopt a circular approach by moving from linear ‘take-make-throw’ production to a circular business model.
